Sooo, I haven’t updated in a while and have a few fun things to share. I love lace shorts and own a few pair but where I am tall some of them are just a little too short for me. Over the weekend, Dillard’s had an awesome sale on shorts and I found these adorable denim Miss Me’s with white lace at the bottom. I just loved the lace and rhinestone detail. I also took the time over the weekend to make an instagram for the blog! Head over and follow me @ataleofstyle!

One trend I am adding to my summer wardrobe are textured shorts! I like that they are great for the almost 90 degree weather we have been having, but they are also dressy and stylish. They would work for a picnic at the park or for work!

So, while we have had some not so great weather this weekend, I was happy to get a few shots of the things I wore over last weekend. This spring I have had a slight obsession with off the shoulder tops and am currently on the look out for dresses in the same style as well. I found this one (pictured) at Kohl’s and was so so in love with them. They are actually versatile where you could wear them on or off the shoulder. So I bought them in 2 more colors. They work with so many different looks, whether it be denim, skirts, or crocheted shorts (another new obsession 😉 )They are my new favorite look for spring. -Mk

Soo, while I usually wear alot of pastels in the spring and wait until around July to wear the reds, whites and blues, I couldn’t wait to wear this adorable navy blue peplum last weekend (Memorial Day). And I actually think this outfit would have been perfect for the Fourth of July but I had already bought something else to wear for then, So I opted for this outfit and I really just wanted to be comfortable being that I was by the lake all day. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Pink is my favorite color so, when I found this dress a month before the holiday, I knew I didn’t have to look any further. This dress would work for pretty much any formal occasion throughout the spring/summer season. The color is very springy and bright. Definitely one of my fav looks!

The thing about black and white is that it is timeless and wearable in any season. So, I was super excited to find these black and white striped heels! Not to mention they have a low heel, which I prefer considering I am tall. Looking forward to pairing these with solid color summer dresses and of course, the accessories pictured below.
